Open for submissions

Send us the
whole thing.

No agent required. Unsolicited manuscripts are read. Every submission gets an answer, with editorial feedback, whether we take it or not — usually inside sixty days.

What we are reading for

On the list for
2026 / 2027.

If your book is not on this list, send it anyway with a line about what it is. Some of the best things we have published did not fit a category we had written down.

We do not accept erotica, and we are unable to accept submissions from outside the United States.

How to send it

Five rules, and one of them is about the file name.

  1. Double-spaced
  2. A common serif font — Times or Times New Roman
  3. 12-point
  4. Saved as LASTNAME_SUBMISSION.docx
  5. Word or PDF

Every submission is read by our team and run through AI-detection software. We do not publish manuscripts that are largely AI-generated. If you used a tool to tidy your own sentences, that is not what this is about.

What happens next

After you press send

You get a confirmation

An email lands as soon as the form and payment go through, so you know it arrived rather than wondering.

A person reads it

Not a filter and not an intern's summary. Our editorial team reads submissions, which is the reason this takes up to sixty days rather than a week.

You get an answer either way

We respond to 100% of submissions. If your manuscript is a fit, the email contains a Warren Publishing contract. If it needs more work, the email contains editorial feedback on what and why.

PipeVine is considered automatically

Every fiction and nonfiction manuscript is also read for PipeVine Press, our traditional imprint. Two are chosen a year. You do not apply separately.

Before you send

Questions first?

If you are not sure your book is a fit, or you want to know what a contract looks like before you commit an afternoon to formatting, ask us here. We answer these ourselves.

This form is for questions. Manuscripts go through Submittable — the button above — so nothing gets lost in an inbox.
