John Schwartz

About the author

Born in the Netherlands, John Schwartz spent his career in international trade and development — in Holland, in Switzerland, and at the World Bank in Washington, DC — which took him through Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States.

He is the author of a fictionalized memoir, Some Women I Have Known; a romance novel, Enchanting the Swan; and a corporate novel, Francine: The Coalminers' Dragon. His short story collections are Audrey, A Cherished Memory, about the film star Audrey Hepburn, whom he knew through his family, and Shiver, Snicker, Schmooze. He has also summarized thirteen novels by his grand-uncle, the once wildly popular Dutch novelist Maarten Maartens, mainly in Maartens' own words.

John lives in Virginia, near his children and grandchildren, and enjoys hearing from readers.
